Tracy and Gretchen were lovely hosts, and the breakfasts they made were creative and delicious. We stayed in this historic home on our first New Bern visit. The room was comfortable and nicely appointed, and the downtown location made it easy to walk around the old Town. We’ll stay here again and would recommend it.

We keep coming back, and each visit has been delightful. Gretchen and Tracy are wonderful hosts, breakfast is always terrific, and the location makes it easy to enjoy New Bern. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with tasteful decor. They deserve six stars if that were possible.

My first bed and breakfast was the Benjamin Ellis House, and now I can’t imagine traveling the same way. The host was gracious and accommodating, and the home had a welcoming feel. My room was cozy, clean, and quiet even though every room was booked. It cost less than nearby hotels, too. I appreciated having WiFi and being able to adjust the room temperature. Highly recommend.

Gretchen and Tracy are fantastic innkeepers, always welcoming and accommodating. Tracy makes great coffee, and Gretchen’s ginger cookies are a favorite. I’ve stayed here several times. The rooms are updated, the inn’s common spaces are great, and there’s plenty of parking. This downtown B&B will always be my first choice in town.

A great place to stay for exploring on foot. The waterfront, restaurants, shops, town, and historic sites are all within walking distance. The home is beautiful and nicely appointed, with clean, comfortable rooms, a good bed, and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was great, and the hosts were wonderful.
