I’ve stayed in both 4D and 1A. The apartments are roomy and modern, with very comfortable, luxurious beds. The gym around the corner has friendly, professional staff who respond quickly, and the location works especially well for hospital visits. There are some frustrating gaps, though. In 1A, the heating barely worked: I had to set it to 80 to get the actual temperature above 65, perhaps because of the high ceilings. Neither 1A nor 4D had much in the way of kitchen utensils, and the two-bedroom, two-bath unit, 1A, was stocked even less than 4D. There’s also no coat closet or shoe-changing spot in 1A, despite about 200 square feet of empty space near the entrance. 4D’s bathroom had a similar oversized empty area. Noise was a problem in 4D, and I suspect upper-floor apartments or units facing away from the inner alleys and courtyards may be noisy too. There are no curtains, so light comes in at night and heat escapes, which seems at odds with all the signs about protecting the environment. There’s no doorbell, so you have to go downstairs to let visitors in, perhaps for security reasons. Packages get left in the unattended lobby with no delivery area, and they pile up. When flowers were sent to us, the management company around the corner had to hold them. Garage parking isn’t necessarily available even if you’ve rented an apartment, and trash was overflowing from the dumpsters in the garage.
