Comfort Inn & Suites New Iberia - Avery Island

We stopped here while visiting Avery Island, after a long drive, and got a really good night’s sleep. The room was quiet and clean, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good too, and the service was just as nice. We’d happily come back.

We had two rooms, and the staff looked after both of them attentively. The service was phenomenal, and we had plenty of time during our stay to get to know “Tina” and her staff.

We arrived around midnight in the middle of a business trip, and they had no trouble accommodating us. Both the night and morning desk ladies were very kind. The beds were absolutely wonderful, and breakfast was simple but good. It worked well for an overnight stop, and I’d stay again.

We finally got checked in after a very slow process, with one person at the desk and a long line of people waiting. Then our room wasn’t ready, and the front desk told us we’d just have to wait. There was no water in the lobby or breakfast area for filling cups, either. They charged $100 for incidentals, and three days later it still hadn’t been reversed. I tried calling several times, left messages, and sent one through the site, but got no response. Stay away if you don’t want poor service and extra charges. I wonder whether this place has any management at all.
