I spent about a week here on my first visit to New Orleans, exploring the famous French Quarter and nearby neighborhoods. For a budget traveler, it was a perfect base. There’s a bus stop right outside, and the bus gets you close to the French Quarter, then it’s less than a three-minute walk. The transit app has more details. The hotel was amazing. It’s rated three stars, but I felt it operated a bit above that. The shared areas were very clean, and the service staff and front desk were helpful and quick to respond. The reservation includes use of a clean, well-maintained gym. There’s also a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and decent lounge area. I hadn’t realized the hotel was connected to the local research and teaching hospital. It has a full cafeteria open 8 am-8pm, with good portions and affordable food.

We had a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived, thanks in large part to Mr. Bobby. He helped us find our way around and arranged transportation for my wife’s appointments and trips to and from the hospital for her surgery. My one wish is that bistro 42 offered a better dinner selection. I’d like everything open at dinner time, instead of just the two options, personal pizza and hot foods.

I used to choose this as my preferred hotel when visiting from 2015-2021, but the place has gone downhill lately. I won’t stay here again. The rooms aren’t clean: the curtains are dirty, the TV and lampshades are dusty, there’s product buildup on the hair dryers, and the door handles are gross. The air quality is poor too. My nostrils swell up as soon as I get off the elevator to go to the room, and the only time I could breathe fresh air was outside. That’s surprising for a hotel attached to a hospital. I think they replaced the beds sometime between 2021-2025. They’re now hard and uncomfortable; they used to be among the best I’d slept on. Every morning during this stay I woke up with my back and body aching. PLEASE CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL FOR YOUR STAY IN NOLA ❤️

The hotel’s lovely corridor has fountains, comfy seating, and beautiful lights, and the pool and hot tub are amazing. The staff were so kind and accommodating. We’d been traveling all night to get to my cousin’s wedding, and they got our room ready early. Whenever we needed anything during the trip, they were helpful. If you visit New Orleans, I highly recommend this hotel.

We used the Atrium for our family Memorial gathering, and it worked out perfectly. There were long tables for food and photos, and staff roped off our space for the private event. Our guests had lovely things to say about both the Atrium and Brent House. We picked the hotel for its location and affordability while visiting New Orleans, but the quality and sense of safety impressed us too. Our room was spacious, pretty, and quiet. Parking was easy, the Bistro had a surprisingly affordable range of meals for the kids, and the pool and comfortable hot tub were great. We were also close to St Charles Ave, Clearview, shopping, and restaurants. We plan to come back to Brent House on our next visit.
