A’Jaya made our girls’ trip so much better. She walked us through the streetcar routes for the places we wanted to visit, gave detailed directions around town, and suggested great restaurants. Her warmth and local knowledge made us feel welcome, and that kind of service really lifted the whole stay. The Courtyard by Marriott New Orleans was also in a handy spot for seeing everything we had planned without much hassle. We had a wonderful time and would gladly return. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting New Orleans, and if you stay, make sure to meet A’Jaya.
I spent more than 200 nights in hotels last year, and nowhere made me feel as welcome as this place. Lindsay at the front desk was a wonderful host and made it feel like staying with family. Aijaya helped us figure out how to get around a city I didn't know, and Charmaine checked on every room as though we were her only guests and handled every request. We'll definitely make this our first choice on the next trip.
The Peloton in the gym was a huge selling point for me. I try to check for one before booking, but hadn't seen it mentioned. The hotel was also more affordable than nearby places, with clean, comfortable rooms, kind and helpful staff, and a great location. I could walk to lots of restaurants, and the trolley stop right across the street made getting around easy. Perfect for me, and I'll stay here next time I'm in NOLA.
I hope this place gets back to the dependable standard it used to have. I've stayed at least four times before, and never had this many problems. The price and location are still good, but for wheelchair guests it doesn't feel reliably accessible now. I booked well ahead and called to confirm a roll-in shower. The automatic entrance and ramp looked promising, but carts and stands at the top of the ramp blocked the way and made it hard to maneuver alone. They put me in Room 111, where I'd stayed six months earlier. The light and outlets on the right side of the bed didn't work, leaving me without the only spot to charge my wheelchair. Maintenance tried to fix it and said they'd come back, but never did. I checked out five days later and left the state with it still unresolved. The shower was roll-in, but its hanging rod didn't work. The soap and shampoo dispensers were mounted too high to reach from a wheelchair. These details matter for full-time wheelchair users. Nearly all the staff seemed new. Everyone was pleasant, but many didn't know basic information about the area, which you'd expect at a major tourist destination. I'm genuinely disappointed.
The balcony room had a perfect view of the Mardi Gras parades, and inside the hotel things stayed pleasantly calm even during the festivities. The room was clean and comfortable, and everyone on staff was friendly. I'll definitely come back next time.
