Rathbone Mansions

Rathbone Mansions was a great spot for our New Orleans trip to the Sugar Bowl. The suite felt like our own little NOLA apartment, with extra space and a very comfortable bed. There were plenty of linens, and soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Coffee and breakfast snacks were handy, too. We walked all over the French Quarter, and it was easy to get Ubers. We also took a quick soak in the hot tub to relax. We’ll definitely be back!

Michelle and Sheila were wonderful. They helped us out and accommodated all our requests. The room was clean, and the location was convenient while still being far enough from the busy area to feel peaceful. The buildings are older and furnished with antiques, though the bathrooms have been updated. We really enjoyed our visit and will stay there again when we return to NOLA.

The hotel sent us a warning about cars being towed during a marathon, and we were really grateful for those texts. We found street parking easily, though it wasn’t Mardi Gras season. We could walk to lots of things in 10-15 minutes. It’s a quaint, old-style room, quiet and dog friendly, with a small, intimate pool and hot tub. We met some travelers who go every year. I didn’t see anything haunted, but had a relaxing stay. Coffee, oatmeal, granola bars, and fruit were available whenever we wanted them.

This is my favorite staycation spot. I’d moved away for two years and had only returned to the city a few months ago when I came here for my first local getaway with a partner. It was his first visit, even though he was born and raised here. The staff know me so well that they left a welcome-back card and a bottle of champagne in the room. Such a kind surprise! After working all day, the pool and hot tub were refreshing. The room was spacious and clean, with great beds and a great shower. I’ll keep coming back!
