Aloft by Marriott New York LaGuardia Airport

The lobby had a fun setup for kids, with video games, a pool table, and plenty of room to hang out, plus a full bar for adults. I was there over the holidays, and the festive decorations made it feel especially welcoming. Even though I was traveling alone for work, I’d happily return with my family. The hotel near LaGuardia was very convenient for the airport and was clean, comfortable, and easy to get around. Staff were warm and welcoming, and the food was surprisingly good. The kitchen team accommodated my dietary needs, which I appreciated. The shuttle ran reliably, and the drivers were friendly and helpful. It was a smooth, enjoyable stay.

I’d like a more comfortable lounge area. The bar feels more like a cafeteria. The rooms were clean and looked recently remodeled. I often stay near LGA the night before a flight, and have tried the nearby Marriott and Hilton too. The Hilton had the nicest bar and grill, but the rooms weren’t great. The Marriott was terrible, with old rooms. I’ll probably stay at Aloft from now on.

The room was clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the free airport shuttle made getting around much easier. There’s also a good Halal food truck outside, and the price seemed reasonable for the holiday season. We especially appreciated being able to check out late. Cynthia at the front desk was amazing. She was warm, accommodating, and helpful even though she was busy and working alone. We’d definitely stay again.

We were left outside in the dark for several minutes because only one employee was working the front desk. We had to wait for another guest with a room key to let us in. When the employee finally checked us in, she handed over the key with no customer service, showed no apology, and said, “Oh well, I’m the only one here.” She seemed annoyed that I was upset about being left outside.
