We were moving from San Francisco and booked the Envoy Club for a few days with the family before we could get into our apartment. The large studio had a little kitchenette, a clean bathroom, and a comfortable king bed, and was wonderful value for the price. The subway is a three- or four-block walk away, and the location is pretty good. This isn’t a regular hotel. From outside, you can’t reach anyone before 9 AM or after 8 PM. Still, for the space and cost, I’d recommend it, especially to families with kids.

Kitchens make this a good option if you’re trying to save money on food. Service was friendly, and the location is pretty central for getting around NYC. It’s a little run down, though. Not bad, just a three-out-of-five kind of place.

The beds were horribly uncomfortable, the place was filthy, and WiFi cost $10 a day. There was no staff or service after 7 PM. Being next to a hospital also meant ambulances were a nuisance all night.
