Hotel The Villa

A large part of my great stay at Hotel The Villa was the service from Ashraf at the front desk on the morning shift. He was warm, professional, and attentive, handling check-in, answering my questions, and making sure I had what I needed. His service felt both efficient and personal, and he made me feel welcome. He's a real asset to the hotel. I'd absolutely stay here again because of the experience he gave me. Highly recommended!

The bathroom was the best room feature: very clean and functional. Service was also the strongest part of the stay. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and extra blankets arrived quickly when we asked. The location is very close to the metro, which is convenient, though the area has an edge to it and can feel unsafe. The reviews make this place sound either dramatically good or bad, but it's just okay, a cheap stay with the bare minimum in the rooms. There were only two pillows, a very thin sheet, and the plastic-wrapped mattresses made a lot of noise when we slept.

Ashraf on the morning shift was helpful and kind when we asked for assistance. The woman working the afternoon we arrived was also so kind and let us check in early. We were pleased to find the room smelled clean, and the washroom was great, with a tub that actually drained. You're about three blocks from the subway, with a Dunkin Donuts right there, and Manhattan's main spots are less than a ten-minute subway ride away. A few small things kept this from being five stars: there was no shampoo, conditioner, or body wash, just tiny bars, and no in-room safe. There wasn't coffee in the room, though we already knew that, and a bottle of water would have been nice.

Ashraf went out of his way to make sure we had what we needed, and everyone on staff was extremely friendly. The hotel was very clean and felt welcoming from the moment we arrived. We had a great stay and would definitely come back.
