This is a decent option if saving money is the priority. The rooms are small, but they were clean and fine, and I had no issues with anything. Staff were nice, and breakfast was okay to decent. There was a lot of rubbish and many homeless people right outside the hotel, which might bother some. If that doesn't put you off, it can be a nice, cheap stay in NYC.

A complete waste of time. The person at reception tried to mislead us about the prices and said that was just business. Maybe that's how he sees business, but it wasn't honest. At first, he claimed only one room was available, a suite. Once we negotiated, he gave us a different room, clearly backing away from the claim that there was only one. Horrible.

If being central is your top priority, the location may suit you. For comfort, cleanliness, and how the hotel looks, stay away. We were put in a basement room across from the staff bathroom. It was old, falling apart, and smelled terrible, as did the basement. Having guests down there with the cleaning staff was a strange choice. The room was also beside the elevator, so we heard everything happening there. I've stayed at close to 100 hotels, and this ranks among the three worst experiences I've had.

The bed was disgusting, with yellow and pink stains, blood, and a bunch of hairs on the sheets as soon as I pulled back the cover. There was so much dust above it that it looked like no one had wiped the area in months. My boyfriend and I had booked one night, but the dirty lobby full of flies and the grimy, shaky elevator were already a bad start. When we got off, we saw a maid lying on the floor on top of sheets. The room was badly outdated and neglected, with peeling paint. We didn't even want to ask for another room. I'd pay a little more for somewhere nearby like The Pod hotel, which is clean.
