Battery Park

It was one of the cheaper New York options, though not the cheapest, especially compared with a big Times Square hotel. The kitchen area helped us spend less on eating out, and I’m glad we paid extra for a city view. The room felt large, had plenty of storage, was clean on arrival, and had hot water. Pillows were a little uncomfortable and the air was very dry. There was a lot of road noise, but that’s just NY, and the thin walls meant we heard some “weird” noises. Housekeeping costs extra, though you can ask for more towels and get extra amenities at reception. There’s no lobby area, and we didn’t have time to see the lounge or media spaces. The roof and pool were closed for the off season. The hotel seemed busy, especially with office workers. It was easy to get back to, and the number 1 subway worked well for us. Keeping our luggage after checkout was helpful. I’d generally recommend it as a budget option that’s still good.

A quiet, spacious gem in downtown New York at a reasonable price. The rooftop views are amazing, and it wasn’t crowded. You do have to be okay with an app-only experience.

There was a leak in the ceiling of our booked room, but when we told the staff they quickly moved us to a comparable one. It didn’t have the same nice view, but we weren’t planning to spend much time in the room, and they compensated us for the slight downgrade. The place was immaculately clean, with a very comfortable bed and a modern kitchen stocked with all the utensils and equipment we needed. We like having a kitchen and washer and dryer. The rooms were much more spacious than I expected in NY, and the staff were always kind and friendly. We stayed at Sonder Battery Park for a quick NYC getaway last month, just steps from the Subway and close to everything we wanted to do. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.

The studio we stayed in worked well, and we could make meals without a hassle. There was some wear and tear, but everything worked. The king-size bed was ultra comfortable. Room touch-ups were done every day, with complimentary coffee in the morning and water in the lobby. The place was clean and quiet, with a cool rooftop. Associates were attentive and friendly, especially Shenay, who really knows how to please customers. I’d definitely recommend it and stay again.
