Casamia 36 Hotel

The main problem was that I couldn't reach the hotel before the trip because nobody answered the phone. Once we arrived, though, Vlad at the front desk was very nice. We paid an extra $50 to keep our room until 3 pm, which was worth it because we didn't have to carry our bags around NYC before heading to the airport. The hotel was clean, with comfortable beds, fresh towels, and a hot shower with good pressure. It worked well for a short stay, and I'd recommend it and keep it in mind for another trip.

The hotel is on 10th Avenue, close to Midtown but on the quieter side. Getting into the building with a front door code was something I liked. The rooms were clean and a decent size, and the beds were really comfortable. Breakfast had delicious coffee, bagels, and croissants. Vlad at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome right away. I'd recommend staying here.

We were able to leave our bags at the hotel until our late Monday flight, which was a big help. The location was quiet but still close enough to walk to parks and attractions. Uber arrived within two minutes, and with little traffic on that road, loading and unloading luggage didn't feel rushed. A 24-hour gas station and a Dunkin Donuts were just steps away for snacks and drinks. We had a king room that was just right for two, and the hotel had a cozy sitting and smoking area out front with flowers and trees. The locked code gate and coded hotel entrance made us feel safe at any hour. Breakfast was free, though we didn't try it. We came for a four-day birthday trip, and the staff were wonderful. We arrived early wanting to get going, and Vladimir kindly let us check in early and was helpful throughout. The rest of the staff were kind and helpful too. We couldn't have been happier with the stay. Thanks to Vladimir and everyone for making those four days enjoyable.

The location suited us well for exploring: the subway is nearby, and Times Square and Vessel are a 5-10 minute walk away. We were out hiking around New York most of the time, so we mainly needed somewhere warm, clean, and comfortable to sleep. This worked perfectly for that. The rooms are small, but fine if you're not planning to spend much time in them. There is a little park nearby with homeless people who looked scary to me, but they don't bother you, so just walk past the five meters. The price felt fair, and I'd recommend the place. We stayed for three nights at the end of October. Breakfast wasn't extensive, but it was enough to start the day: croissants, coffee, juice, cream cheese, cereal, fruit, butter, and jam. The place was warm and clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and there were no bugs. Hot and cold water both worked. We were on the 10th floor with a nice view and no elevator issues.
