Fairfield Inn New York Long Island City

For a three-star hotel, it met our expectations: clean and comfortable. The shuttle runs to the nearest railway station every half hour, which made getting into the city easy. There’s also a small office with two computers and a printer for work or printing flight tickets. I’d stay here again.

The room was cozy, clean, and on the smaller side, and check-in with the friendly staff was smooth. I got it through Priceline at a very decent price for what we experienced. Breakfast was a real bonus, with lots of choices and pretty good food. Parking may be tricky, though I got lucky and found the last spot on site. I don’t know the neighborhood well enough to comment on it, but the location was convenient for the subway, with a shuttle bus available. Had a great stay.

I’d come back because the staff were so helpful. Nina at the front desk knew the area well, Felix was great, and Samuel, the Front Desk Supervisor, responded to my needs quickly. The shuttle drivers were friendly every time, too. There are some limitations: not many TV channels, no pool, no microwave in the room, and no mini fridge. I was lucky enough to find free street parking. The excellent staff made those smaller issues easier to overlook.

The rooms are nice but small, and breakfast is included. I’d rate the hotel itself three stars and the location around two. There’s almost no parking, so I’d hope you’re not driving. The nearest restaurant is about two blocks away. It serves good food, but it’s a local bar. Auto shops surround the hotel, and I wouldn’t feel safe in the area late at night.
