Four Seasons Hotel New York Downtown

Assiya took wonderful care of us from start to finish, and her attention to detail made the stay memorable. The indoor pool was impressive, and the steam rooms inside the changing rooms were a treat after a cold, busy day out. Another lovely Four Seasons experience, and we’ll be back. The hotel is a little away from Midtown’s main bustle, but we found plenty to explore nearby and enjoyed the city view from our room. We visited the World Trade Center and its moving, informative museum, and also Mercer Labs. Battery Park was a short trip away for the Statue of Liberty, and we walked through Wall Street to see the Charging Bull. For shopping and food, there are good neighborhood spots. We especially liked Eataly, where you can buy authentic Italian products or have lunch.

The location suited us well, away from Midtown’s craziness but still close to attractions and easy subway access. We loved the massive pool, and our spacious suite was comfortable, with a primary bathroom that felt cavernous. I didn’t get to the spa. Some people call the decor muted, but we found the understated colors elegant. Even during the holiday rush, the staff made hospitality seem effortless, with a warm welcome and a real eagerness to help. Duran, the lead doorman, handled our car and luggage smoothly and got us inside for a delightful check-in. The reception team was personable, noticed my husband’s obscure basketball team cap, and surprised us with an upgrade from a Liberty Suite to an Oculus Suite. Vash from guest relations made sure treats arrived for both our two-legged kiddos and our four-legged kiddo. One evening, after several Ubers canceled, a doorman saw that we were frustrated. When he heard we were going to Little Italy, he offered to drive us the ten minutes in the house car. That turned a stressful moment into a highlight. For anyone bringing a dog, housekeeping won’t enter if the pet is alone in the room, for liability reasons. The staff made it easy: I let the front desk know when we got back, and a housekeeper came within minutes while I took the dog for a walk. I’d read some negative reviews, but after our stay I find them completely unfounded. Four Seasons is expensive, but the rewards are just as significant. A poor experience here says more about the guest than the hotel. Well done, Four Seasons Downtown!

We were there for a special occasion, and everyone on staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and incredibly comfortable. We had an excellent experience and everything felt perfect. We’ll definitely be back.

I’ve stayed at several Four Seasons locations, including Boston, Seattle, Dallas & Houston, and this one is a favorite. I’ve been here a few times and can’t wait to return. The rooms are reliably clean, water is available, and staff are ready to help. It’s a great place for work trips, and it’s near my favorite deli, Katz.
