Incentra Village House

The stairs are steep, so they might be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. Aside from that, we had a lovely stay. Our room with two double beds was huge for NYC, almost studio-sized, and spotless, right down to the shower grout. Everything worked as it should. The bathroom has just one sink, but two people could still get ready there. The Greenwich location was quiet and walkable, the price was very reasonable, and check-in was easy. They even let us in about an hour early.

The location was great and the staff were kind, but I can’t recommend this hotel. For what I paid, I expected a much better room. The place felt worn down: old, wobbly furniture, thin linens, a dirty floor, and mold in the shower. My room faced the street, and the noise was loud. I woke up during the night to spiders on the bed, barely slept, and didn’t stay for the second night. I’ve never left a negative review before and didn’t ask for a refund. Looking back, I should’ve read more reviews before booking.

We usually go for modern hotels with gyms, but staying on the same corner as Corner Bistro in the Village was an easy choice. Wynn and the property manager were quick to help when the A/C wasn’t working right away during a late September heat wave. They offered fans or a refund, and got a new window A/C installed within an hour. The place was clean and quiet, with a great vibe and value. We loved our stay and will come back, and recommend it to our friends.

Our room, Surrey, seemed much more worn than it looked in the pictures. The floor was sticky, the mattress oddly bumpy, and the sliding doors wouldn’t work. The fee situation was frustrating too: my voucher said there’d be no extra fees, but I was asked for about $58 as a “house fee.” Staff contacted several “bosses” after I showed the voucher, and after more than 30 minutes they didn’t charge me. There are two buildings next to each other, so maybe the other one is nicer, but based on our stay I can’t recommend this place.
