The Andrew Hotel

After several days with no sleep, I was grateful for how comfortable my stay was. Melissa at the front desk welcomed me and helped fit everything I asked for around my busy schedule. Willie helped the next day, and Bryan did too. Five stars for Andreww in GN.

The rooms are on the small side and a little dated, but they’re clean and comfortable, and the location is amazing. I stay here at least once a year to be near family. This Thanksgiving, Willie the valet explained the local parking rules when valet service wasn’t available and held the door whenever we came or went. His son happened to drive by, and Willie introduced us. It made us feel like part of the community. I didn’t catch the names of two other lovely employees. The younger woman with glasses at check-in got our requested rollaway bed to us so quickly, and she was always smiling and glad to help. The woman in the breakfast area was down to earth, offered local recommendations, greeted everyone so kindly each morning, and remembered returning guests. They could’ve been grumpy about working over Thanksgiving, but they were all happy to help and treated us with real kindness.

Jose was especially kind, professional, and attentive, and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The room was spotless, and everything felt clean, comfortable, and well maintained. I found the atmosphere relaxing and pleasant, and the hospitality was excellent. I’d gladly stay here again and highly recommend it 🗽

The room itself was fine, but the thin walls and door made the stay unpleasant. We could hear a neighbor sneezing through the wall, doors slamming in the hallway, and kids running and screaming in their room two doors away. We chose self-parking for $15 rather than valet for $20. The valet driver told us to pull up and said he’d take care of the car, which seemed like an attempt to get us to pay for valet. I repeated that we wanted to self-park and had been told it was an option. Only then did he tell us where to park. He came across as rude and had no ID badge, so it wasn’t clear whether he was staff or a hotel guest waiting for a ride. The front desk staff also felt unwelcoming and unprofessional. They had AirPods in and were laughing loudly and horsing around while we waited. When we left, nobody asked how our stay had been. They just told us carelessly to drop the keys in the box. I wouldn’t stay again. It was an unpleasant experience and poor value for the money. If I’d wanted a motel-like stay, I could’ve paid less at a Red Roof Inn.
