The Mercer

I was at the bar having drinks with my mother when I stepped into the empty lobby to take a call, just for a minute or two. I kept to a corner so I wouldn't get in anyone's way. Thomas came right up to me, interrupted the call, and said I couldn't be there because I wasn't a hotel guest. I apologized and said I'd be quick, but he followed me outside into the rain and said it wasn't a free for all. My coat was still at the bar. After the call, I came back in and told him my manager had heard the whole exchange. The way he'd handled it was unkind, unprofessional, and embarrassing. He didn't seem to care at all. I've never been treated with such disrespect. There are plenty of places in NY where people are kinder, so I'd skip this one.

The bar's got a great atmosphere, and the cocktails are good. For somewhere quieter, head upstairs. I'll be back.

My room at The Mercer was comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped, with lovely design. The hotel has a chic feel but still comes across as welcoming, like a luxurious home away from home. From check-in through departure, the service felt warm, attentive, and genuine without being too much. The staff took care with the details, and every interaction, meal, and moment was better than I expected. I can't wait to return to The Mercer.

I hadn't stayed here in years, and the quality seems just as good as I remembered. It's always a nice place to stay. The location makes it easy to walk to shops, restaurants, and more. It is on the expensive side, but I think it's worth the price. The rooms are nice, the service is wonderful, and the employees are helpful. Before I arrived, they answered some questions over the phone. Check-in was smooth even though I got there late, around 8:30pm. I didn't have to wait, and my room was ready.
