Carla Louis made our Valentine's Day stay special. I wanted flowers waiting in the room, and she connected me with the florist and took care of the rest after they were delivered. Then she surprised us by decorating the room with flower petals. Such a thoughtful detail. The staff treated us incredibly well from beginning to end. The service was far better than what we've experienced at Fairmont managed hotels, and it really sets this hotel apart. We can't wait to come back.

After a hectic work week, I needed a reset, and I'm glad I spent last weekend in February at VHNYC. Everyone was welcoming, accommodating, and eager to help through my long weekend. The front desk ladies, bell staff, and breakfast crew were all especially hospitable. I enjoyed the room, the high-floor accommodation, and being so accessible to Midtown. It was my first stay, and I hope to make another visit soon.

We were upgraded to a higher floor with a view of the Empire State Building, and the welcome cookies were a nice touch. We booked through Chase Edit, which included breakfast each day and a $100 property credit. The room's “chamber” layout has a sliding door between the bedroom and the bathroom and main area, which helped keep hallway noise down. We could still hear some street sounds, like sirens, even on the 23rd floor, but it was quiet overall compared with many Manhattan hotels. Breakfast came with a choice of an entree or the buffet. The avocado toast was delicious, but it was disappointing that lattes and other espresso drinks cost extra when drip coffee was included. We spent the $100 credit at the same restaurant and were happy with the food and service. We also loved how dog-friendly the hotel is. We had a very pleasant stay and would gladly return.

I needed a quiet night before an important presentation, so I booked the Virgin Hotel New York for January 17, 2026. I checked in on my phone and arrived around 6 pm expecting to relax. Instead, an alarm kept blaring on and off at random, and public address announcements repeatedly said it was “not a concern.” With both going on for hours, I couldn't settle down or sleep. I finally packed up and left for another nearby hotel. Before leaving, around 11 pm, I reported what was happening at the front desk. The room cost about $1,500, and I couldn't use it to sleep, yet they offered only a $100 adjustment, roughly a 6% reduction. The noise was bad enough, but the hotel's response was even more disappointing. A token discount for a room I couldn't stay in shows little accountability or customer care. A partial refund would have been reasonable. Instead, I was left stressed, inconvenienced, and deeply dissatisfied. This fell far below expectations, and I'd caution anyone who cares about rest, professionalism, or fair treatment when a problem comes up.
