W Times Square

We loved every minute and will absolutely be back. The location is perfect, and the hotel has a stylish, energetic NYC feel while still being comfortable and inviting. We felt safe coming and going. The two-bedroom suite was spectacular, spacious, beautifully designed, and impeccably clean. It was worth it. Staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the start, with warm, kind service throughout. We were celebrating a birthday, and they went the extra mile to make it memorable. The food was excellent too, from an indulgent room service breakfast to late-night snacks after long days in the city. Self-parking is a few blocks away, an easy walk with luggage. They initially tried to overcharge us significantly for our SUV, but the hotel staff stepped in right away and helped sort it out.

We had to leave another property abruptly and were glad to find a room here at the last minute. It's a great location, easy to get to and from, and our cozy room fit our group of four well. The doorman and check-in staff were very polite and friendly. We ate at the Mexican restaurant, where both the food and service were good. The bar was the one letdown. The DJ played good music, but the bartenders' attitude was off and the atmosphere felt wrong. If they don't like the work, maybe they should find another profession. I'd definitely stay here on future trips to New York.

The staff were genuinely nice and gave me good service throughout, but the property itself was a major disappointment. The hotel feels old and dated, especially the 7th-floor Living Room, where the furniture looked worn and sometimes visibly dirty. Guest rooms also need cosmetic repairs, and the finishes and furnishings felt tired and neglected. The website photos are misleading, heavily enhanced and not a fair picture of the hotel's actual appearance or condition. Based on this stay, I wouldn't return to W New York Times Square. I've stayed at other W Hotels, including W Punta Cana in November 2025, and that was a completely different experience: modern, beautifully maintained, and true to the brand promise. I highly recommend that location. Times Square's pleasant service still falls far short of what I expect from the brand.

My second room was on the corner of the 45th floor. It was a bit small, but the view was good. The AC worked fine and the internet was reliable, as long as you paid for it, though the shower temperature kept changing unpredictably. The $40 per day charge to my card, mainly for the New York fee, didn't feel worth it. I stayed three nights, drawn mostly by the town square location, but the service didn't justify the choice. I arrived early and waited a long time to check in and leave my luggage. The reception staff were friendly but not helpful, chatting amongst themselves instead of explaining the hotel's benefits. A few hours later my room still wasn't ready, so they offered another one. The second receptionist was more helpful. The outside looks old, while inside it's small but modern in style.
