Cassa Hotel New York

This could work if all you need is a bed in a good location, but I wouldn't choose it for a couples getaway and wouldn't stay again. The room was clean, though very dated and tired, and the hotel's website photos made it look much more upscale than what we found. Staff were present but not attentive. I'd gladly pay more to stay somewhere else.

The rooms were spacious and had what we needed, including a welcome fridge. There wasn't a bathtub, but the large rainhead shower more than made up for it. It had strong pressure and got lovely and hot. The hotel was clean, well placed for most major attractions, and the staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful. After a long day of sightseeing in 93° heat, the iced water with lemon was especially welcome. Free lobby coffee in the morning was a nice touch too. I highly recommend the hotel and can't wait to return.

The rooms were quiet, with no outside noise, and there was plenty of space for two adults and a baby. The bathroom was spacious and really nice, though the bed could've been wider. I'm a little over six feet, so my feet got cold. The main frustration was the elevator. One was out of order, leaving just one for a 45 (?) floor building, and with staff using it too, we sometimes waited more than ten minutes. This happened repeatedly and should've been fixed sooner. The location is great for walking to Broadway and Times Square, and it's central for heading uptown or strolling toward Wall Street. We stayed at the Empire hotel near Central Park on an earlier NYC trip. It cost a lot more, and I'd still choose the Cassa hotel next time.

We were at Hotel Cassa for four days, and the friendly staff made a good impression. They brought a wine opener right up when we needed one. We also asked for a coffee and tea maker, but it never arrived, and housekeeping usually came late, around 2-3, which disrupted some plans when my wife was tired. The room was larger than a typical Times Square room and nicely made up, but it felt short on character. The bed was too firm for us. The bathroom was lovely, with a rain shower, and the windows blocked much of the city noise. There weren't any coffee makers in the room. The lobby was small, though it was nice to have morning coffee and tea, plus fruit water all day. We've stayed at several nearby hotels, including the Algonquin. This was an OK stay and a convenient choice for a Broadway show or a visit to Times Square.
