The service was uneven. Some staff were friendly and helpful at check-in, but responses were slow and the place felt understaffed. Location-wise, Long Island City on 12th St is convenient for a budget trip to NYC. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the F train, quick to Manhattan, with skyline views and some places to eat nearby. The area feels industrial and quiet at night, though, and doesn’t have Manhattan’s energy. The rooms were a highlight: spacious, very clean, with comfortable beds, modern furnishings, good AC, a fridge, and a nice bathroom. Everything felt fresh and well maintained for the price.

I LOVE staying here. It’s an easy walk to the subway, with access to Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. The rooms have always been clean, with beds made during the day, and the front desk staff are knowledgeable, approachable, and friendly on both day and night shifts.

The room stayed clean and comfortable, and housekeeping kept everything neat each day. The subway is about a 7-minute walk away, which made getting around New York City easy. The only snag was the elevator: just one was working, and its 1st floor button was broken. Otherwise, it was a nice stay at Wingate by Wyndham Long Island City.

Coffee, tea, and water were available in the cafeteria around the clock, which came in handy. Breakfast was basic, though there was something to eat. We stayed five nights and liked the hotel. The room had a large HVAC unit, but no windows that opened.

Danuta, Peter, and the rest of the staff made us feel welcome and were always glad to help. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, a good place to unwind after long days out in the city. We came over from Australia to see New York, and the location near 21 St Queensbridge station made getting around easy. We had a fantastic stay and would happily return.
