Washington Jefferson Hotel at Times Square

The area is great, just a few minutes from the subway and with lots of nearby food options. I stayed here on my second visit to NYC and left happy. The hotel is quaint, clean, and quiet, and I remember the staff as kind and welcoming. They took pride in keeping the place clean and accessible. Booking my weeklong stay was simple and straightforward. This would be my first choice next time I'm in NYC, especially if I'm traveling solo. Good prices and a great location. I'd recommend it.

Back in 2022, I stayed here with my mother, aunt, and cousin for another cousin's graduation recital at Julliard. The room was good, with nice beds and restrooms. You have to swipe your room key to use the elevator for your floor, which felt like a good safety measure. It's a reasonable walk to Times Square, and the hotel had good service.

The room was tiny, and the only outlet I found was in the bathroom, but we were only there to sleep, so it didn't bother me. The rooms and bedding were clean, and the location was perfect. The staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The parking garage is close, though a little pricey, which is what you'd expect in Times Square. I'd stay here again.

There was construction overhead, so we heard some noise, though that should be temporary. I booked shortly before arriving, choosing the hotel because it was available, a few short blocks from the theater where I had tickets, and part of the Triumph group. Our Superior Queen was very small even by NY standards, really for a minimalist. It had a queen bed, two drawers in its frame, two small metal nightstands, a metal chair, and wall pegs instead of a closet. There was barely room for our two small carry-on bags on the floor. The window faced a courtyard and its surrounding walls. We had a wall TV, phone, hairdryer, and minimal bathroom supplies, but no clock. K Coffee in the lobby wasn't available until 7am. At arrival they asked if we wanted daily sheet changes, which we didn't need, but we did ask for fresh towels during our three-night stay. No one came into the room, so we ended up taking out our own garbage and leaving the used towels on the bathroom floor.
