Courtney was especially helpful and amazing. She has a can-do attitude and made me feel right at home. The housekeeping staff were kind and did their jobs well too. It’s a lovely, clean place with good people running it. I highly recommend staying here.

If you’re traveling without kids, this place will do. I used it for a business trip and it served its purpose. The appearance wasn’t great, but the rooms were usable and the staff were friendly. After the issues I’d had at supposedly nicer hotels in Brooklyn and Trenton, it was a relief to get the keys and head straight to bed.

Safety was my biggest concern at this older Howard Johnson by the highway. My room had an interior door and a sliding patio door opening onto the parking lot or courtyard. The patio door wouldn’t lock, and its slightly bent safety bar wouldn’t be much help if someone tried to break in. There were no ice bucket or cups, though there was an ironing board. I used it to wedge the patio door shut. Some effort has gone into updating the rooms, but the place still shows its age.

My family and I were in a nonsmoking room on a nonsmoking floor, but the place reeked of smoke. The hallway smelled like pot or whatever someone was smoking when we left. There were no cups or ice bucket, just one small complimentary soap for the whole family. The bathroom door locks you in. We didn’t shower, so I can’t say much about the bathroom, though it appeared clean. The room was poorly lit. This run-down hotel has been called a shelter by someone else. I can’t recommend it.
