The staff went above and beyond when our room plan fell apart. We’d booked a double room, as usual, because our daughter, who goes to NDSU, was staying with us. When we arrived, that room was under renovation. With the state wrestling tournament in town, they had no doubles left and offered two single rooms across the hall from each other. That wasn’t what we wanted, so my husband asked if there were any other options. The clerk found one more room, a larger one with a single bed and a love seat. He said he’d move the love seat to the end of the bed and bring in a bedframe and brand new mattress. They really came through for us. We’ve stayed at Woodspring Suites many times and haven’t been disappointed. It’s always clean, the staff are excellent, and we highly recommend it.

I’d planned to stay until Monday morning. The guy who checked me in and renewed my stay yesterday was great. Then at 9:45 this morning, someone kept knocking on my door and woke me up, talking angrily about checkout. I called downstairs and got no concern, just a bit of attitude. I drive for a living and come through this area often, but I’m finding another place and won’t be back.

The whole building smelled like dirty carpet and onions, and my room reeked of pee. The sheets were stained with blood, the top sheet was dirty, and the replacement sheets I asked for were dirty too. When I took off a pillowcase to change it, there were pee stains all over the pillow. The keys didn’t work either, which added to the frustration. The front desk wasn’t helpful and was super unprofessional. She kept talking on her personal cellphone while dealing with customers. Don’t stay here unless it’s your last resort. It’s super nasty.

We paid over $100 for less than six hours and left at 12:30 a.m. The room was unacceptably dirty, and a door hinge malfunctioned so badly that its screws snapped when the door opened. I recorded a video of it. The room was also unbearably hot even though the AC was running. We tried opening the window to cool it down, but it only opened two inches. With the heat and no assistance, we had to leave. Our family had a string of problems during the stay. The key failed three times in a row, so we had to keep going back to the front desk. The elevator smelled strongly of marijuana and cigarettes, and loud, intoxicated people were banging on hallway doors, yelling and offering alcohol. The experience was thoroughly disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

I’ve stayed in a maximum-security prison for a two-year bid, and that place was waaay better than this. The staff were terrible and barely seemed to care about complaints. The rooms looked like a cheap adult film set and were about as clean. I’ve never been this disappointed in a hotel. I wouldn’t stay in this trash can of a room even if someone offered to pay me what I paid. Watch your step in their “lobby,” too. There was a huge hole filled with wet tar that ruined a pair of my favorite shoes.
