Heidi and her friend were so welcoming, and made the best pancakes ever. Both the room and the building felt like someone's home. We stayed two nights on our New England road trip, and there was plenty of parking behind the property. It’s well located for local food and sightseeing, especially close to the cliff walk if you’re up for it. Thanks for a great stay. I’d definitely recommend it.

The Artful Lodger is a wonderfully cozy, quintessential bed and breakfast. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had good pressure, the towels were soft, and there’s a private lot right behind the building. We also had great views of Newport.

We stayed over the winter for my wife's birthday, and the room was spotless, charming, quiet, and so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and accommodating, like waking up at an awesome grandma’s house: bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausage, parfaits, and all those great smells. The service was excellent the whole time. We’ll be back!

I’d never tried a bed and breakfast before and was a bit unsure, but ended up loving the stay. We were in town for a wedding and could walk everywhere from the perfect location. The rooms were clean, the staff were really friendly, and breakfast in the conservatory was a treat. They also leave a bottle of wine out, so you can enjoy a glass and the view any time of day. I’d stay here again next time we’re in Newport.

I came to Newport with my teenage son for a lacrosse tournament and barely knew the area. I was only looking for the cheapest place to sleep, since we’d spend all our time at the field, but this B&B turned out to be such a charming find. The room was spacious, homey, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and knew the area well. They also make an amazing breakfast. There’s fun shopping, great dining, and so many activities nearby. I absolutely recommend The Artful Lodger.
