Bellevue House

The comfortable bed and good breakfast were the best parts for me. The room was small, and going up to the third floor each time I needed something from my car or the drink room got tiring. I had trouble finding the front desk at first: it was in a different building at 30 Bellevue, while the hotel entrance was at 14 Cathrine. A kind neighbor pointed me in the right direction. Newport makes this a rather expensive stay, and it wasn't for us. Live and learn.

It’s a pretty old home in a great spot, just a five minute walk from all the wharfs. Breakfast is included and was great. Keep in mind it’s an older house, so it doesn’t have the usual amenities of a new hotel. Cute and nice, though not perfect. I’d highly recommend staying here.

A third party booking site caused a small mix-up, but Kim and the rest of the staff went out of their way to help my brother and me. Their customer service was excellent, and I’m grateful. The location was perfect, and the complimentary breakfast was really good.

The breakfast is always a highlight for me, with different choices each day and a little bit of everything on the plate. The French toast was my favorite, and the coffee was made just right. I also liked sitting outside in the morning sun. The rooms were clean, with plenty of fresh towels, toilet paper, and complimentary water bottles. Parking in back was convenient, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. It’s within walking distance of lots of great restaurants and shops, and I’d recommend this place or any of the ‘Inn on Bellevue’ houses for a Newport visit.
