Aloft Newport On The Levee

The staff were phenomenal. Reception, James at the bar, and the breakfast kitchen crew all went above and beyond. I wish I’d gotten more names because I can’t say enough about them. The hotel was under construction during our visit, but the service made it barely noticeable. We spent time on the patio, where part of it is covered and sheltered from rain. Some of our group swam in the indoor pool while the rest played games outside. Our room lost a star because traffic was a little loud on the road-facing side. It’s a busy location, but I thought the noise could be dampened more. I’d return in a heartbeat.

A very well-located hotel at the foot of the Purple Bridge, with easy access across to downtown Cincinnati and excellent skyline views. The area is pleasant and has plenty of shops and restaurants. The rooms are a good size and laid out nicely, with a TV offering lots of free channels, a fridge, safe, and excellent WiFi. The staff were bubbly. I’d very happily stay again in one of Americas best cities.

I had a really good time at Aloft Newport on the Levee and would stay again, though the cleaning could improve. The location made the trip easy and fun, with walkable bridges, restaurants, and bars. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful, despite some negative service reviews I’d read. My husky had a great time too, and it’s definitely pet-friendly. The room was on the small side, especially worth considering if you’re sharing with a pet or several people. Most of the hotel and my room looked clean, but there was a ball under the bed that my dog quickly destroyed, which made me wonder how thoroughly the room had been cleaned. The walls and doors on the 4th floor could use a good wipe-down.

We stayed for two weekend nights and found the front desk incredibly friendly. The room was comfortable and as expected, and breakfast was good. There are a handful of made-to-order choices rather than a buffet, and my wife and I had no trouble finding something. If you have stricter dietary needs, I’d call ahead to ask about options before adding breakfast to your stay. Parking took a little figuring out: the garage is tucked into a dead end in the complex, off the 3rd street entry, and you have to check in to get access. The hotel’s front door is in that area too. We parked at the Aqua Garage, checked in, realized it was the wrong garage, and moved the car without much trouble. Good food next door, the aquarium, and plenty of sights are easy to reach on foot. This will be the first place we look next time we’re in Newport or the Cincinnati area.
