Comfort Inn Newport

The room was barely functional, with no chair and nothing beyond the basics. Our two beds were full size, not the queens we usually like, and there was no pool. The bathroom is unbelievably cramped: you have to straddle the toilet to shut the door, and the sink area has barely enough room for toiletries. We asked for somewhere as quiet as possible and ended up right by the door, so we hear everyone coming in. The elevator wasn't working either. This is nowhere near what we've come to expect, and so far it's been the least, smallest, worst place for us. What a disappointment. The hotel smells terrible. The bathroom door squeaks loudly, and the hot breakfast smelled so bad I wouldn't consider eating it. The fresh fruit was the only thing that looked edible, but it was filthy. I hadn't tried breakfast when I first wrote this, and after seeing what the hotel offers, I wasn't expecting much. Thanks for responding. This morning I was woken before 5 a.m. by people getting ice at the machine right outside my door. I hope you find ways to manage the hotel's challenges. Good luck.

Mikaela set a standard other GMs should follow. She's very good at her job, and her teammates are too. When the internet was down on our arrival, she got on it as quickly as she could, and we appreciated that. We were only there for two nights, but had a great stay. The hotel is older and clean, close to the beach and all things Newport. The town is so cool, it reminded us a little of Morro Bay. We hope to come back in winter for fewer crowds, and maybe get a room facing the front next time. Thanks again, Mikaela. See you all soon.

We had a nice, clean room and the beach was just a short walk away. Breakfast was good, and the front desk staff were really friendly and kind. Our AC was broken, but the maintenance guy replaced it quickly. He deserves recognition for how diligently he worked, 10/10.

We stayed 10/31-11/2, and it was pouring rain when the water heaters for the whole building broke on the first day. They weren't fixed until afternoon. When I came back to my room, its heater had shorted out while I was gone, leaving the room freezing. I appreciate that they moved me to another room, but those were two pretty big problems in less than 24 hours. I asked for a partial refund because we were missing an important necessity. They offered 15% of the first night's total, but only as credit toward a future stay, not back to my payment method. It shouldn't be hard to guess there won't be a next time. The elevators weren't working either. Don't stay here.
