OceanCliff Hotel

Ocean Drive gives this place a peaceful getaway feel, though downtown Newport is still close. I found the staff welcoming and helpful, and my room was clean and comfortable. The property is beautiful, with stunning ocean views and a relaxing coastal setting. A few small room updates could improve things, but it’s a charming place I’d recommend for a scenic Newport stay, and I’d return.

Our wedding at Oceancliff this past weekend felt like the dream we’d hoped for, and the venue was a huge part of that. Amanda helped from the start, then Alison worked with us on the final details. The hotel staff took great care of our family and went above and beyond, especially Stephen. Reidyn, the OC Coordinator, was a superstar and added so many thoughtful touches. I could write a novel about her. The food was out of this world, and guests are still texting me about how great everything was. The venue’s atmosphere, food, staff, and hotel stay all felt perfect.

The view was beautiful, but the food was average, our drink order was wrong, and the service was terrible. The food came before the drinks, and we asked for bread three times without ever getting it. There was lipstick crust on the wine glass and a fly in the martini. After we pointed them out, they brought a replacement glass, but I had to pour the wine into it myself. We also told the manager, who apologized at the end. Honestly, come for the view and stick to a canned drink.

We had a great off-season visit. The location is beautiful and breathtaking, and the hotel was excellent. Staff were attentive and helpful, and our room was spotless and updated. I’m not sure whether the photos have been changed, but the furniture has definitely been upgraded recently. It feels like a bit of a hidden gem.
