Budget Lodge

The room looked clean, but they definitely have a bug problem. I reported a dead roach Friday morning, then came back that night and found three live ones in the bathroom.

The staff were really nice, and the place looked good at first. Still, it felt dirty. There was stuff all over the bed and blanket, and I believe they hadn’t been washed in months. The stove’s glass top was badly broken.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the price is very affordable. But hot water was a bit scarce, and the amenities were limited for the low rate. We could smell smoke from neighboring rooms, and there was a lone cockroach in our room. A staff member said all the rooms are smoked in, despite the listing advertising smoking and nonsmoking rooms. The sign also promised free breakfast, but there wasn’t any. I’d probably only stay again if it were my only option, though you can afford it if you have less than $100 to spend.

The room was clean, had everything we needed, and came with drinks. It’s also not a long distance from a restaurant. The owner and staff treated my husband and me with respect when my card wouldn’t charge, and let me stay while I sorted it out. We ended up staying three nights altogether. My daughter stayed one night too, and they were just as kind to her. Great hospitality and a great business. We’ll be back.
