A convenient, walkable central location, just a few blocks from tourist attractions, the theater, shops, and restaurants. There are three good restaurants inside. Grain was my favorite, though that's because I'm a burger-and-beer kind of guy. Overnight parking was reasonably priced, and company gatherings seemed to happen here regularly.

After our cruise in Norfolk, my family and I wanted seafood, so we sat at the oyster bar. James made us feel right at home, and the food was amazing. Calamari, clam chowder, and hush puppies, all perfect.

We had a lovely stay, but Saltine was the highlight. James, who handled the oysters, was fantastic. After trying the oysters and shrimp during happy hour, we weren't tempted to try any of the other restaurants nearby.

Getting around from Hilton Norfolk The Main was easy, with restaurants, sights, and walking paths close by. The hotel is modern and sits in a revitalized part of the city, which made it a handy spot for a business trip. A higher floor is worth requesting if you'd like a city view. My room was clean and roomy. The fitness area is well equipped, and there’s an indoor pool. There are three good restaurants in the hotel, plus the Executive Lounge, where Hilton Honors members can get complimentary hot meals and pay for drinks at the bar. The garage entrance is behind the hotel, and from there you can go straight inside. That was especially useful in cold winter weather. Front desk service varied: most people were friendly and sincere, though a few came across as stiff or indifferent. A strong business stay in Norfolk, particularly if you qualify for a Government/Military rate.

The happy hour is great, and I’ll definitely be back. I’ve been visiting more often because the service has been so good. James at the oyster bar is a particular favorite of mine. Perfect stay!
