Hotel Vista Sierra

Juliana made several suggestions that helped us enjoy our stay, and Tommy drove us to dinner. Juliana also checked in with us more than once to make sure everything was going well. The view was unbeatable, the room was clean, and all the staff were friendly. Fresh pressed juice and eucalyptus in the shower were lovely touches, and there were several comfortable places to sit. We originally thought this would be a one-time visit, but we all agreed we'll be back soon. There's also a great wall canyon walking trail very close by. Such a wonderful surprise of a stay!

Our family of four fit comfortably, and the room was bigger than many hotels at about the same price. It had two beds, plus a West Elm sofa bed with a trundle that pulled out from it. A large desk and wall separate the sofa area into its own space. Everything was very clean and the decor looked new. The bathroom and closet were both unusually spacious, with room to unfold a large suitcase in the closet. There was also a microwave and fridge.

I stayed here for nine days this year. The north Auburn spot beside I-80 is convenient, and there's virtually no competition from a newer hotel experience, which seems to shape how they act. Their daily amenity fee is a joke. They say they have a shuttle into Auburn, but after we were told someone would drive us, we waited 15 minutes and then found out no driver was available. The supposedly elevated breakfast also means long waits when eggs, sausage, or bacon run out. On my most recent trip, they didn't even have bread for toast. A truly elevated breakfast could have sent someone to the Raleys less than a mile away for a couple of loaves. The rooms are functional, especially the 2X4 they use to prop up the air conditioner.

We were a family of four visiting for a sporting event and felt very comfortable. The room was clean and spacious, and the breakfast area was cozy. The kids enjoyed the outdoor Jacuzzi.
