Bay Bridge Motel

The room was small but clean enough, and the heater worked well. The bed was okay, though the two pillows were pretty flat. There was just one hanger in the closet and nowhere to set a suitcase, so mine stayed on the floor. The shower barely had any pressure. The place is very old fashioned, right down to an actual key for the door, which was kind of quaint. The man checking me in was gruff and not welcoming. We get up early, and the nearby coffee cart didn’t open until 7 and was shut on Sunday, so that didn’t work for us. The entrance could use more lighting or reflectors too. We nearly ended up in a ditch leaving after dark. It’s an adequately priced motel, but I think we’ll stay somewhere else next time.

We stay here whenever we’re in the area. Love the old school feel, cozy atmosphere, and lovely views. The setting is beautiful, and the folks are friendly. It’s clean, relaxing, and an easy recommendation.

I’m seeing other reviews now describing the same thing happening again and again. In my case, they claimed the towels were stained, though they weren’t, and said they had sent a photo when they hadn’t. A charge showed up on my card five days later with no warning or explanation after they’d taken it for a deposit, even though there was nothing to charge to the room. I called several times and got no answer or callback, so I asked Booking.com for help. They weren’t much help either.

The floor had crumbs all over it, and the showers were obviously filthy. It looked like nobody had cleaned them in a long time. If they have a cleaner, the job isn’t getting done properly.
