Locust Tree Bed and Breakfast LLC

We slept well despite the place being on a main road, since traffic noise didn’t reach us. The rooms are comfortable, if not especially large or luxurious, and sharing a bathroom across the hall worked out fine. We never had to wait for anyone else to use it. The owners are welcoming, and breakfast was delicious, with eggs from their chickens. We enjoyed our short stay and would recommend coming back.

I booked this based on its excellent overall rating, but our stay didn’t match that at all. The place needs serious cleaning, care, and updating, inside and out. In our room, a shade and a light bulb were missing, the sink drained slowly, and the shower pressure and temperature kept varying. They also have roosters that never stop crowing. I hate having to say all this, but it isn’t a good place to stay.

We chose this place for the location, not as a destination. Our group used several room and bathroom combinations over a few days. None were close to clean, with heavy dust, grime, and cobwebs, and the porch furniture was filthy too, though the porch itself was pleasant. The hosts came across as gruff, but conversation with them was pleasant. Breakfast was basic but there was enough to leave us full, with coffee, eggs, bacon, toast, and other choices. For an inexpensive, basic bed for the night, it was decent.

Breakfast is cooked to order, and Heidi has good stories about life. Her place is clean, the bed was comfortable, and the location worked well for our visit to an event at Lime Rock Park. Heidi was a wonderful host. The renovation she and her husband did brought in modern touches while preserving the old style charm, and our room had wide board flooring.
