We were in #6 for one night. The room was cozy, with a comfortable king bed and a cute electric fireplace heater, and it suited us perfectly. The price was great, too. A very nice woman called the day before to confirm, and they were accommodating about our late arrival.

You can park right outside your room, and the front desk was wonderfully hospitable and easy to work with while we had our pet with us. The room has a microwave, mini fridge, and a few charger ports, and there’s a nice little coffee setup in the office. It’s well located for fryeburg and north conway. The rooms are a bit dated, but the beds and bedding are comfortable, the bathroom has good water pressure, and everything was incredibly clean.
It was quiet and peaceful around Saco River Lodge, with nature all around and North Conway’s attractions nearby. Our room was clean, cozy, and well kept, with the essentials provided. The staff were really friendly and ready to help. We also liked having an outdoor Firepit and picnic area, a nice place for families or couples to relax. It was comfortable and affordable near the White Mountains.
For an older-style motor inn, this was a good find near plenty of hiking trails, and the rates were great. We only stayed one night, but the room was quiet and clean, with a comfortable bed, lots of pillows, and freshly laundered-smelling linens. The fridge and air conditioner both worked well and were cold. A nice man checked us in.
After three years of bringing our family to Saco River Motor Lodge and renting nearly 90% of the rooms each time, we won’t be back. The rooms are very dated and had flies in them. The fire pit, grills, and picnic tables are a nice feature we’ve always enjoyed, but the rest of the stay keeps getting worse. The lodge is next to the Saco River, yet there’s no river access. Checkout is strictly 10 AM, even for the large three-bedroom suite we rented, and housekeeping comes to the door before then to ask when you’re leaving. Check-in is 3 PM. This year we were also told the pool closed at 6 PM, which seemed needlessly early. We complained and were allowed to stay a little longer, which we appreciated. The worst part happened after we left: my card was charged $60. I called to ask why and was promised a callback, but no one followed up. When I called again, they said it was for six towels they claimed I’d taken. I was stunned. I wouldn’t take even one towel from a motel, never mind six. I asked for a manager and was again told I’d get a call. I tried every day for several days with no response. Four days later, a supervisor finally called and said they were doing me a favor by charging me for only six towels, because they claimed I’d taken nine. That was absurd. We didn’t even have that many towels in the room. The accusations, lack of professionalism, and poor communication were infuriating after years as loyal guests. Save yourself the aggravation and stay away.
