Wingate by Wyndham North Little Rock

The mattress was super comfortable, and it's an affordable hotel, but I would have chosen somewhere else if I'd known what to expect. I travel for work and have stayed in lots of hotels. The receptionist was pleasant and had us checked in within five minutes, which was great. Still, the lobby smelled like smoke, our door lock didn't work, two lamps were out, and the hallways on the second floor smelled like maryjane. The pillows were tiny, and the common areas, especially the elevator, were filthy. We checked in around 11pm and could hear music from a room down the hall. We saw homeless people in the back parking lot, the TV remote wouldn't turn on the TV so I had to switch it on manually, and there are interesting people (tenants) living here. The online ratings looked okay until I searched deeper and found similar reviews. Two stars.

There were lots of food options nearby, and the night staff were great. I can speak for room #203: it was nice and clean, with a comfortable bed. The TV has Netflix, which I found really convenient. I'd stay here again if I'm in the area.

I was in an accident after leaving the hotel, where I'd stayed multiple nights after extending my stay. Because of that, I couldn't return to collect my belongings. Now the hotel is charging me $120 just to get them back. I called corporate, and they told me to speak with the front desk. My family and I have tried several times, and I've tried too. I don't understand why they're making me pay for my own belongings when I didn't even stay in that room that day. I think it's unjust and very rude. I'm a PLATINUM MEMBER WITH WYNDHAM.

Breakfast was filthy and seemed unsafe: mold in the water under the day-old gravy they reheated, dirt in the waffle batter, and dirty serving utensils. Nothing felt fresh or sanitary. The staff were rude, unhelpful, obtuse, and lazy. Ask for anything extra and they won't help, but their attitude will put you in a bad mood. Don't stay here unless you like torturing yourself.
