Hotel RL Cleveland Airport West

The front desk guy had an attitude, and the whole property was a construction zone. Our room was filthy: dust everywhere, and the couch, toilet, and beds were all dirty. I could list more, but that gives you the idea. Don’t stay here if cleanliness and decent service matter to you. This place shouldn’t be operating in its current condition.

The kids had fun, but there’s no way I’d come back. We’d booked what we thought was Sonesta for my daughter’s birthday gathering, and after a full day we were too tired to leave when we saw the place. We had to carry our own towels and blankets to the room. The hallways smelled bad and felt gloomy, and we basically had to clean the room again because it felt more like a motel than a hotel. There was even someone’s shoe in the room, which we didn’t touch. If it’s being renovated, they should throw out the whole building, close it, and start over. This was no way to represent Sonesta.

The staff I spoke with were friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. The place is supposedly getting renovated soon, but it shouldn’t be open until then. There was mold everywhere, peeling wallpaper, uncomfortable beds, and showers that took 10 minutes to warm up and barely felt like showers. The fitness center is one to skip. Breakfast is waffles and bagels, and nothing else. I get that a business has to make money, but this felt like a ripoff. Please focus on fixing the hotel instead of thanking me for the review.

At least the reception desk refunded our stay right away when we asked. The lobby had a strong mold smell, and we hoped the rooms might be better, but the odor stayed. There was visible water damage and old cobwebs in the room, dust packed into the PTAC face, and the bed was just a sheet over a mattress. The place is very dirty.
