Hotel North Pole

I planned our excursions from the room using the brochures the hotel provided, and we got to see the northern lights, go dog sledding, and visit all the sites available to us. My winter trip to Alaska was #1 on my Bucket List, and The Hotel North Pole helped me make it happen. The staff and manager worked with us before we arrived to make the trip possible. They made a beautiful Santa room, and the tree lights stayed on. The decorations were above and beyond what we expected. The staff kept the hotel spotless inside and out, cleared the sidewalks, and our room was always neat. They also treated my husband’s Seeing eye dog royally, giving her a nice bed and bowls. The sweetest thing I saw was Santa talking with a little girl from China. I was passing by while she and her parents were with him. He answered all her questions, then read her The Night Before Christmas. His authentic red suit had real fur trim, and he even reinforced my belief in him. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone who wants the perfect bucket list trip. Mine has been totally fulfilled. Thank you to all the staff. Thank you, Colleen and Bob Maziarz

A great find, it felt like a home away from home. The hospitality was lovely, and it had everything you could need for work, touring, or a visit. Rooms are well appointed, with fresh, crisp linen on very comfortable beds. Best of all, housekeeping is done daily unless you ask them not to, so there’s no need to beg for it.

The pet-friendly room didn’t smell like wet dog or anything, and it had a decent-sized refrigerator and microwave. There were lots of good options in the pantry, plus cookies every day at 5:30 and an ice machine that was handy for filling coolers. The pet relief area could use upkeep. It’s full of dandelions that attract bees, and I was worried the whole time my pup might get stung. Our room was clean, and the staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast had waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, cereal, juice, and milk. The waffle maker could definitely use an upgrade.

The hotel is right in the middle of town, near a Safeway store. Rooms are spacious and clean, with a refrigerator, coffee maker, iron, and hairdryer. They provide small bottles of shampoo and cream, plus small bars of soap. Breakfast includes cold cereal, oatmeal packets, yogurt, bagels, small packaged muffins, and a waffle iron with batter. There’s also jam, syrup, cream cheese, boxed milk, canned juice, and some fresh fruit. Hot coffee and hot water are available.
