The room had dusty, peeling wallpaper, odd screws in a crawl-space opening, and crooked, damaged outlet covers. It was a terrible setup, and I woke up to check on my car several times each night. At the office, the man said I owed a $5 cash booking fee. He took a $20, opened his wallet, and handed me $15 change instead of using the register. That felt sketchy enough that I cancelled the credit card I’d used there because I no longer felt safe with them having its number.

I’m in hotels for work two weeks out of most months, so I’m used to traveling. A coworker and I tried this place instead of my usual spot, and it was a mistake. Breakfast milk was curdled, and most of the other items were expired. The floors were filthy too, the pillows felt like lumps of coal, and there was barely any hot water. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

At midnight, after we’d booked months ahead, the owner refused to give us a room. His machine only swipes cards and couldn’t process our chip card, which needs to be tapped or inserted. He said our card was “no good,” but our credit card company confirmed his machine had caused the problem. We were stranded and had to find another hotel. He wouldn’t take cash at the rate we’d booked either, and wanted to charge us more. He said he’d cancelled the reservation. We were grateful the Courtyard was across the freeway.

Room 103 was clean and quiet, and the rates were good. But I barely slept during my eight nights there. The bed was so hard it felt like concrete, and the lumpy pillows were like a sack of rocks. I’d seen an October 2023 review mentioning those same problems in room 103, and management had said they’d fix them. They hadn’t. The shower was very slippery with no grab bars, and its ancient shower head didn’t work well.
