TownePlace Suites by Marriott Knoxville Oak Ridge

The hotel is handy if you want to walk to a shopping area, but the parking lot is uncovered and you’ll cross it on foot. There are concrete stairs to climb to reach the shopping area. The rooms are adequate, though there were several issues. The sheets had yellow stains. They had been washed, but apparently new ones weren’t in the budget. The shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and left a big puddle. Our window was incredibly dirty, and the toilet seat dropped with a loud bang. Each morning I woke to stomping and banging from above. I don’t blame the guest, I blame the hotel for not soundproofing the rooms well. Breakfast was bare minimum, and I found the coffee weak, almost flavorless. They did have a waffle maker and toppings if you like waffles. It sufficed, but don’t expect much.

The room was clean and spacious enough for me, and everything in it worked. I stayed alone, though the layout could feel tight for two or three people, especially kids, over a few nights. The website pictures showed the room pretty accurately. The workout room was clean and cool, with equipment in good condition, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you know this brand, the room has a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and stove. This seems like a newer location, and it was easy to get to and park.

I was in town for a couple of nights to see family. The front desk staff were awesome, really friendly and helpful, and the hotel and rooms seemed well kept. Breakfast was okay, but they ran out of bacon and never refilled it. I’d definitely go back.

We were driving from Alabama to NY, and this was our first stay at a TownePlace. The area was quiet, we felt safe, and there was lots of parking. It was clean, with Walmart right next door if you need the store. The front desk staff were nice and efficient. The bed sagged in the middle, though we still slept fine. The room felt a little small, but the bathroom was large and it was okay. There was pink stuff along the shower edges, which is so easy to kill with cleaner and hardly any scrubbing, so I don’t know why they didn’t do that. One towel had a long hair folded into it, but we had three towels and could just avoid that one. The room otherwise seemed clean. The AC was noisy and right beside the bed, but we slept well using a white noise app. Even with those issues, I’d definitely stay here again.
