The room was clean and I slept comfortably, then got a hot shower in the morning. I bring my own body wash, so that was pretty much what I paid for. The staff were really friendly, and I never heard the trains people keep complaining about. The place could use a little TLC, though. The parking lot was bumpy, some stair tiles were missing, and the continental breakfast display was sad, even though breakfast is the bare minimum hotels offer.

The staff were the one bright spot here. Every person working there was kind and wonderful. But we booked five nights and left after two. Rats were getting in through a crack in the wall in our first room. They moved us to an upgraded suite, which looked nice at first, but there were live bedbugs crawling over the bed. My husband and I slept in our car until we could get into another hotel. Part of the property is being renovated, but the whole place needs to close until the work is done. It has potential, but needs major remodeling. I would not stay here.

We’ve stayed at more than 50 hotels in the USA this year, and this was one of our worst experiences. The train nearby was unbearable, and we could hear people in the rooms above and walking past our window. There were long black bugs on one bed, no mattress covers, and the old, thin sheets showed the mattress stains through them. The sink water wouldn’t turn on, the toilet kept running after a flush, and there was only one washcloth, with someone else’s hair on it. No coffee maker either, and the staff weren’t polite. Water had pooled on the floor by the fridge. I showed it to a staff member, who plugged the fridge in and left the puddle there. The rooms are dated, but that was a minor issue next to everything else. I wish I’d read the reviews before booking.

We came with a large group in June 2018, while the hotel was being remodeled. They tried to accommodate us and even moved us to nicer rooms. But charges, most likely from the bar, only cleared our accounts in December 2018. We called the hotel several times and got no real explanation. Several people in our group filed fraud claims with their banks. I wouldn’t stay here again because I can’t trust them with my bank information.
