Studio 6 Ocala, FL

The manager, Ray, was really nice and respectful, and works well with you if you’re genuinely trying. The hotel is a great budget option, quiet and clean, with a very clean pool. It’s dog friendly and has lots of space for walking or playing, and it’s close to great places to eat.

The room was filthy. The bed hadn't been cleaned, and the bathroom was awful. I checked out as soon as I saw it and got a refund. At check-in, the attendant said there was no key for my room, so I would have to find him whenever I needed to get back in. This place should be condemned, and health services should investigate. Don't trust the five-star reviews. I wouldn't stay at this Studio6 in Ocala, Florida under any circumstances.

I needed somewhere cheap just to sleep between evening and morning, and this motel did the job. I felt safe and nobody bothered me. It was mostly quiet after 11 pm, though at 5:30 every morning someone started revving a truck. Pets are allowed, but they try to put guests in the middle building, bldg 2 of 3. During my four days there, I heard a dog once, on one day. There wasn't a 'do not disturb' sign, so housekeeping could come in. Nothing was missing or moved, but they took several towels and didn't replace them. I use towels on counters and tables to soak up spills and reduce bacteria getting transferred around, and I bring my own bath towel and face cloth because of concerns about public towels. The TV only had AMC, with movie marathons organized around actors like Tom Hanks, Chevy Chase, and Bill Murray. There was a lot of repetition. I saw Forest Gump three times!

There was no room key during my entire stay because the system was down. The bathroom door had a big hole punched in it, and there were burn marks on the outlets and furniture, even though my room was supposed to be non-smoking. The lamps were covered in kids' stickers. I took pictures of all of it. Hard to believe this is a Motel 6.
