We paid for a three-bedroom apartment said to sleep 12, with two double beds in each bedroom. Instead, there were two rooms with twin bunk beds and another with one full-size bed. Eight of us couldn't sleep comfortably, let alone 12, and some of us ended up in the car. The bunk mattresses were under an inch thick and sagged onto the beds below. The apartment was filthy, with holes in the walls, mildew visible in the bathroom, and vomit on the balcony and railings. A bedroom floor was so broken through that you could see into the unit below. The refrigerator wouldn't stay cold, the sinks were missing handles, and there was barely any water pressure or hot water. The smoke detector had no batteries, the outlets had no covers, and the windows had no blinds. The mattresses and walls were dirty too. Management never returned my calls. This was the worst place I've stayed in Ocean City.

We were meant to stay five days, but left after my son was bitten by bedbugs. The place was dirty throughout. The sofas felt sticky, so we had to cover them with sheets before sitting down; the linens were so worn they were practically see-through, and the pillows were flat. The floors felt grimy, there were no towel racks, and the few pots and pans looked rusty. There was no broom or mop, and the sandy picnic table outside was dirty with no hose nearby to rinse it off. Only two TV channels worked, and a four-bedroom apartment had just one conditioner. The only good thing was the location. The manager or owner didn't seem to care about improving the living conditions.

The location near the ocean was the only good thing. The apartment was dirty, with ants all over the kitchen, unclean dishes in the cabinets, hair left in the bathroom, and broken beds. The couch was sticky, stained, and had cigarette holes. There were no towels, washcloths, soap, or bed comforters. Showerheads were missing, the bedrooms had no AC, and there was no WiFi. We were told there'd be a washer and dryer, but there wasn't one. We asked for a refund as soon as we entered, but they refused, so we were stuck there. We paid $1,594 plus an $80 cleaning fee, though it had not been cleaned. One star only because zero wasn't an option. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

There were nine of us, and every room had bedbugs, both dead and alive. The place also had no toilet paper, paper towels, or shower towels. The fridge and freezer barely worked, showerheads were missing, and the sinks had no knobs. There wasn't any parking for the property either. We complained at the office, but the man argued with us and refused to refund us. He eventually moved us to two different rooms, but they had the same bedbug problem. We had to sleep in our cars that night. Horrible place. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

The apartment at Old Town Apartments, 8 8th Street, Unit 1, was filthy from room to room, with a mildew smell as soon as we entered the living room. Sand covered the floors, and there were dead and live spiders, ants, and other bugs around the place. We found exposed electrical sockets in the living area, mold and mildew on the bathroom baseboards and doors, dirty showers and toilets, and broken kitchen faucet fixtures. The living room furniture was too dirty to use. The bunk beds had rust, loose or missing bolts, and mattresses stained and dirty in the crevices, including what looked like dried blood on one. Bedroom blinds were broken, with one held together by a bandage. The stove and oven were dirty, and the disconnected exhaust fan seemed hazardous. Outside, there was paper, bottles, and chicken bones in the bushes, plus dried vomit on a trash bin. We arrived in Ocean City around 4:30 p.m. Thursday and first had to pick up the key and pay the remaining balance at the Coastal Inn Management Office, 2601 North Philadelphia Ave. The three-night stay cost $1,900. Once we saw the apartment, we went straight back to the office. The front desk manager said she couldn't refund us and couldn't send anyone to clean until the next day. We asked for her supervisor because waiting wasn't acceptable. She only gave us his first name, Peter, and he also refused to give his full name. He said he'd try to send someone within 15 minutes, but about an hour later a woman arrived just to assess the situation and wasn't prepared to clean. Six hours after arriving in town, we had to find another place, costing an additional $1,500, and checked out. The owners weren't willing to help when we raised the conditions. I strongly advise against staying here. It was dirty and a health hazard.
