The reception ladies were sweet and accommodating, and the pool was nice and well maintained. The room was another story. I found a pair of LASHES tucked in a bathroom nook, something a proper cleaning inspection should catch, but changing towels and making the bed might not. The appliances looked old and rusty, possibly a safety hazard, and the room felt humid and unpleasant. I was also repeatedly woken by the vents. At 3 AM, a loud, aggravating noise woke me; I turned off the auto setting and the air conditioning, but it kept going. There was no cleaning service on my floor, and nobody came to make the beds. Maybe that was because it was the off season in January, but it still wasn’t acceptable. I can't upload videos of the hotel, but email me and I can send them.

We spent two days here after New Year’s for our first visit to OCMD. There are lots of fun places nearby, walkable when the weather is better, and the indoor pool kept the kids busy. Even with many families there, the hotel stayed fairly quiet. Our room was clean and met our standards. I liked being able to see the pool from the balcony. I wish we’d gotten up in time for breakfast at the restaurant or a trip to the gym. One drawback: the kitchenette had no paper towels, dish soap, or sponge, so bring your own.

I’ve stayed at the princess royale countless times, maybe 12-20, and every visit has been a 10,000 out of 10 for me. The rooms are spacious, with plenty of clothing storage, a big shower, and bathroom space for beauty and health supplies. They’re beautifully renovated, and I’ve even received complimentary upgrades. The full kitchens come with plates, cups, silverware, pots, and more, which lets you save money by eating in. It’s much quieter and has less drama than staying on the boardwalk, and I’ve never had noise issues, even during peak summer. The views are beautiful, customer service is amazing, and housekeeping thoroughly cleans the rooms every time. I’ve never had a problem. The pool is well maintained and open year round, and there’s a wheelchair on site for guests with mobility issues. I feel confident recommending the hotel to friends, family, and the public. For all the amenities, the price is competitive. Hands down the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

We went to the Princess Royale for the first time during Winterfest of Lights, and the Christmas decorations were so pretty. The lobby made a big impression as soon as we walked in, and the rooms were spacious, beautifully renovated, and very, very clean. I’m picky about cleanliness, and these were maintained much better than other places in OC. There was plenty of storage, and the full kitchen came stocked with dishes, utensils, and the rest. We couldn’t have asked for a better hotel in Ocean City. Our family will definitely return and recommend The Princess Royale to family and friends. Thanks for a great stay!

We only ended up here because family had booked a room, and theirs showed what the unfinished side of the refresh looks like. They hadn't chosen a renovated room, and it looked and smelled like the early 90s. Our own ocean-view room was newly renovated and surprisingly affordable, especially for peak-season OC prices. The hotel seems to be updating things, but the work isn't finished yet. The indoor pool looked great for kids, and outside there's a bar for snacks and wave-watching. On our experience alone, this would've been five stars, but this review includes the other room too.
