The dinner was really good, especially the pushcart trio. The sausage and beef were the best, and the plantains were cooked well. We went in early May, during the off season, and loved the tropical, sandy theme and the beautiful waterfront seating. Before dinner we took the distillery tour, which was worth every penny at 15 per person. The guide was great, and they really commit to the prohibition theme. The tastings were delicious, and I bought a bottle to take home. Definitely recommend both the tour and dinner.
We had a good lunch, though the drink and service problems kept it from being a five-star afternoon. Seacrets is still a must-visit for the Ocean City experience, with a setting, energy, and food quality that are all there. On a beautiful day, the open air, tropical feel, and great music at a lunch-friendly volume are hard to beat. The laid-back coastal vibe is what Seacrets has been known for since 1988. The Shrimp Salad Wrap was flavorful and well made, and the burger was good too. My friend had specifically asked for mayo, but it didn't arrive with the food. We flagged it and waited until he'd mostly finished before a small container came out. There were no napkins or knife at the table either, so even the little requests meant tracking someone down or getting things ourselves. Our waitress was cheerful and personable once she got to us, but that took longer than it should have. We realized she was serving our table of three plus three more tables of four to six, with a long walk to the kitchen. She seemed overwhelmed, which is a staffing and management issue, not her personal failure. That lack of coverage affected the whole lunch. The Piña Colada tasted like pineapple slush, with no coconut flavor at all. Its texture was smooth and consistent, so it seemed mechanically well made. The waitress was gracious when I mentioned it and said frozen drinks are pre-batched by barbacks in machines. She passed the feedback to management, which was the right thing to do, but a frozen drink program at this scale needs quality checks before drinks reach guests. A Piña Colada is a menu staple and should taste like one. Entry was straightforward, with IDs checked at the gate rather than the bar, so things moved along once we were inside. We sat ourselves near the bar in an area that still had wait staff. Get the staffing right and this would be a five-star afternoon.
We were staying just a two-minute walk away, which made the location convenient, and the sunset was nice. They have an area for eating right on the water, but the tables and chairs were so filthy I wouldn't sit there. We only went for drinks, not food: a Bahama Mama, a Cores Light, and a shot of brown liquor cost $45. That was pretty much the experience. Seacrets was okay, with nothing much to brag about, and I wouldn't go back on our next visit.
We had a seafood quesadilla and jerk chicken wrap at the restaurant, and both were excellent. The coconut crush was great too. Staff were friendly, and because it wasn't too busy they took time to chat and answer our questions about the history, sharing plenty of other information as well. What a great experience. The distillery tour was a big part of it. We visited in 02/'26 to see the fully functioning distillery, and the owner has gone to great lengths to gather historic pieces like door frames, counters, sinks, elevator equipment, and tools. The guide knew so much about the history and did a fabulous job explaining the items around the place as well as how they make the liquor. There was a tasting at the end, and the tour was well worth the price.
It's always packed in the summer, but Secrets has the vibe. There are multiple bars and places to sit, and we visit every time we're in OC. We tried the pain in de ass frozen drink, blue electric lemonade, peach vodka ice tea, and Bahama mama. Everything was great!
