The Canterbury Inn

We've been coming to the Canterbury Inn exclusively for over 25 years, and we love staying here. The staff are friendly, the rooms consistently clean, spacious, and close to town. You can walk to the town center, and we've fed deer from the lobby's back door. The kitchenettes have stoves and dishwashers, plus dining rooms and actual living rooms, so you can make your own breakfast instead of paying more for a free one. It's cleaner and tastes better here. The pool is nice, large, and a little warm, though when it gets crowded it can feel weird. There's also a hot tub that's just right for three people. We don't stay anywhere else in Ocean Shores.

The room felt more like home than plenty of five-star hotels I've stayed in around the world. It was spotless and everything was well cared for, with the practical things you need, like flatware, a kettle, and even a coffee machine. Fancy city views, motorized curtains, and bidets weren't there, but the amenities and cleanliness really delivered. Cleanest room I've ever stayed in.

We had a very enjoyable three-night stay and would come back when we get the chance for another getaway. The room was clean, and so were the kitchenette utensils, glasses, plates, and linens, with no stains. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were helpful, sweet, pleasant to talk with, and knowledgeable.

The clean rooms and pool area made everything feel extra comfortable, and we were all happy with the space, including our 15-year-old, 6-year-old, dog, my husband, and me. We were celebrating 30 years together as high school sweethearts, and the staff made it special by calling us out on the reader board. The weather was phenomenal, so we made a few trips to the beach, which was an adventure of its own. Wear boots! We even got some clam digging in. Couldn't have had a better stay. We'll be back!
