La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Odessa N. - Sienna Tower

It was a bit of a drive from the interstate, but the quiet and clean room made it worthwhile. I stayed overnight in early January, and the room was in great shape overall, though it’s starting to show a little wear.

I was ready to overlook the other problems until I found a dead cockroach in the bathroom last night. I told the front desk this morning, and they didn't seem very concerned. During the week, the fridge never got fixed, so my sodas stayed warm, and the ice machine on my floor was broken too. The shower door wouldn't stay shut, leaving a 4 to 5 inch gap and making a mess on the floor. The TV picture had faded patterns that made it hard to watch, and the desk chair fabric was worn out. At least breakfast wasn't bad, but I'm not coming back to see if a second stay is any better. I usually don't take time to write bad reviews. Times are rough and people are doing their best, but this was a pretty bad experience. I checked in Sunday night and put a few sodas and energy drinks in the fridge for the week. Monday morning they were warm; I told the front desk, and they said they'd handle it, but I'm writing this Thursday and they're still warm.

Our room smelled awful and musty, and the sheets had lots of old blood stains, both big and small. They clearly hadn't been washed. The front desk didn't seem to take it seriously or act with any urgency, and we waited about five hours before they helped resolve it. Bloody sheets are a major biohazard issue.

I booked a room for an employee who was visiting a jobsite, but manager Nikki wouldn't work with us or send a credit card authorization form. Evelyn at the front desk wasn't helpful either. As a Wyndham member for years, I've never had this kind of trouble at another location. They even objected because we booked through a third party, Wyndham. Seriously ridiculous.
