TownePlace Suites by Marriott Odessa

Lyrical in customer service at TownePlace Suites, Odessa TX, was patient, helpful and knew her stuff when I booked a same-day reservation. My request was complicated, but she answered all my questions and helped finish the reservation. I'm a Marriott fan and wanted to give her a shout-out. You rock, Lyrical!

The internet was unusable, showing only an error, and there was no cell service in the hotel. I had to leave the property just to send a work email, which is unacceptable for business travel. The property is rundown and outdated, just like the photos. At check-in I noticed the app had selected my personal card instead of my work card, and when I politely asked a supervisor to change it, she was rude. My questions got negative responses, nobody welcomed me or gave first-time guest directions, and she tossed my card on the counter with a dismissive “here you go.” I travel often for work and wanted a hotel convenient to both offices, but I won't return. The app only offered a prepaid rate, charging my card at booking rather than checkout. I reserved a king two weeks ahead and was given a double queen. Poor service, the wrong room, the outdated condition and the broken internet made for a bad stay. I stay with Marriott around 100 times a year, and this location won't be one of them going forward.

This was the worst Mariott hotel I've stayed in. The rooms are old and outdated, and I had to switch several times before finding one that was even slightly nice. The TVs didn't work, the door locks were unreliable, and the wifi kept cutting in and out.

I paid over 1200$ for 3 nights, but the room was a terrible experience. It cost 289$ a night, and although it had double queen beds, the taped-up plastic on the windows was the worst part.
