Dunes on the Waterfront

Katie, the manager, made my wedding weekend unforgettable. She went above and beyond and upgraded us to the Sandcastle, where I felt like a princess. We even rode their boat down the river to my ceremony, and it was stunning, like a dream. Mornings brought hot coffee, delicious pastries, and a peaceful water view. Even the soaps and self-care products smelled divine. The décor felt both elegant and cozy, and every detail seemed carefully chosen. Dunes on the Waterfront has such warmth and timeless charm, like stepping into a place from another time. I can’t recommend it enough. It’s an experience and a moment I didn’t want to leave, and I can’t wait to return.

The little boat across the river at high tide would have been lovely to try, but we didn’t stay long enough. We came to Maine for the first time with our kids for the start of fall break, and Ogunquit lived up to what we’d heard. The property was pristine, with thoughtful details, great cleanliness, and genuinely friendly staff. We got welcome champagne and cookies, complimentary snacks and drinks, and a breakfast bag with coffee and pastries delivered in the morning. It all ran so smoothly. The weather was unusually warm for early October, so the kids could enjoy the pool and s’mores by the bonfire at night. We were already eager to come back at check-in. Highly, highly recommend.

I’m already planning to return for another week in 2026. This was my second weeklong stay, and I arrive feeling over-the-top stressed, then leave restored. The cottages are beautifully appointed and the setting is sublime. The Dunes team are wonderful and make everything feel effortless. I can’t find enough adjectives for the property or the people there. They’re the magical pixie dust behind such a wonderfully restorative stay.

We loved every service at The Dunes and have already decided this will be our yearly girls trip. The hospitality was unlike anywhere else I’ve stayed, and everyone we met was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Our flight delays and traffic made us much later than planned, but Mrs. T called to get our coffee orders for the next morning in case we arrived after 10pm. She even knew where we were traveling from, which really stood out. It was an absolute dream and met every expectation.
