The Sea View Motel

We stayed for three days during peak season and had a great time. Most restaurants are within walking distance, and it cost considerably less than some other options. The staff were super friendly. When I lost my headphones in the room, they shipped them across the country and wouldn’t let me pay for the postage or their time. Thanks so much. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in the area.

I strongly advise against staying here. The room was filthy. There were blood traces on the bed, yellow marks and lots of hair on the pillow, and what looked like a greasy stain on the sheets. They were all wrinkled, as if someone had just slept in them. The floor was dirty too, and when we arrived there was a ship waiting for us with insects on it. We even had to kill drinks. The door front was broken and dirty, and the smell was unbearable. The bath was dirty, and when we washed, the water rose to our knees. The towels were brown, as if they hadn’t been washed in months. Unhealthy, disgusting, unclean. The price was really unaffordable for such a horrible room, and we couldn’t even get a price adjustment. We deserve to be reimbursed. Very disappointed. In my opinion, this is what a one-star motel looks like.

Check-in was easy and the staff were friendly, but apart from the location there wasn’t much to like. The room was mostly clean, though it had an overpowering sanitizer smell. Some things had been updated, like the paint and bathroom fixtures, but the work was poorly done. Clothes could only be hung on a shelf and pole attached to the wall, with hangers from the cleaners. The toilet kept running and was still unfixed after I reported it. The towels looked dingy, and the beds were hard and uncomfortable.

I stopped going a few years ago after seeing what the new owners had done. There were cigarette burns in the tables and ants in my relative’s room. Breakfast was burned coffee and powdered creamer. Yuk.
